Shipping delays for niobium products

We are currently experiencing a small issue with our niobium wire supply, and any orders containing anything niobium are currently experiencing longer than normal shipping times. This extends to any orders placed this week. We are working hard to get this corrected and expect to have everything back to normal by the end of next week.

We do apologize for the delays

Rings, rings and rings

A lot of you have noticed we have been very quite of late.  Let me assure you while we may have been quiet, we have also been hard at work.

We have installed a new inventory program here so we can better track what we have in stock and what we need to order from our suppliers.  As some of you have already noticed, we have also started using it to print out our sales receipts.  We recently had to go from 1 day shipping to 2 days, but we hope these recent changes let us go back to 1 day.  Of course it will always be dependant on how many orders we have in cue at any time.

We have also been cutting LOTS of rings.  We are in the process of getting them all up on the web site, but if you want a look at what will be, have a look at the red brass section.  Not only have we listed all but a couple of what will be “stock” rings, we have changed how we display the information for our rings.  We believe this format is easier for you to read, and we have added a bit of information that was lacking before.  Soon all of the sections will look like this.

Now the really good news.  With all that we have done in the red brass section, and with the new inventory program, we took a look at our prices and made some changes.  Almost everything was lowered, and there is also now a 10% discount for anything over 1 oz.  As we add and update other sections, we anticipate being able to do the same thing to them.

Bronze will be the next section we work on, and that should be sometime next week.  Then look for the aluminum.  Somewhere between the two, we will also be adding some new niobium sizes.

As always, we welcome your suggestions and feedback.

And remember, it’s in the maille.

We are very excited to announce that C&T Designs jump rings can now be found at Aussie Maille.  Aussie Maille is an Australian business run by one of the nicest people I have had  the pleasure to deal with and they specialize in chainmaille jump rings.  A perfect fit for us!

We have just sent them their first package which included niobium and stainless steel jump rings.  Stay tuned to their website to see thier new products.

Double Vision

We are very happy to announce our new product line, Double Vision.  Products in the Double Vision line will

be Argentium silver based with either niobium or gold mixed in. We chose these metals because we think they look stunning together, and with the Argentium silver, you won’t have to worry about tarnishing for a very long time.

This product line will only be available from us either through our store or our Etsy shop.  They will not be available in any retail location that carries our product.

We have already added Double Vision earrings and a necklace to our online shop, and will be adding more over the next few weeks.

18g SWG niobium back in stock

We received our wire shipment today and have been feverishly making rings.  All are marked back in stock and are ready to be shipped.  For those that ordered while they were out, will be shipping orders tomorrow.  You will receive your shipping confirmation once your order has been packed.

We have new sized rings planned, as well as more color options for our current ring sizes.  All of these should be added to the store next week.

Kits now available

When we teach a class locally we always make sure we have kits available for our students.  Recently we have been asked about putting some online.  Today we added  a “kit” section to our store, and added our first kit.  This kit is a Full Persian bracelet kit in argentium silver.  It features almost 1.25 ozT of argentium silver and a lobster claw clasp to finish it off.  It will make a bracelet to fit up to an 8.5 inch wrist.  We will be adding a few more over the next few weeks.  All of our kits will be silver (either argentium or sterling) or niobium based.  Some will be strictly one metal, some will be a mix of silver, gold or niobium.  All of the rings will be cut by us in what we feel is the perfect size for the particular weave.  If you have a kit you would like to see us offer, don’t hesitate to contact us.  We love to hear from you!

It’s in the Maille!

18G AWG niobium in stock!

As you may or may not know, there are two different wire gauge systems.  Yeah, it can be very confusing, not to mention frustrating if you didn’t know that before you ordered wire/rings. Up until now just about any place you bought 18g niobium wire from, would be selling you 18g SWG wire.  This poses problems if you like to mix metals such as silver and niobium, especially on weaves that are very size specific.

Well, no longer do you have to worry about that.  We now carry both 18g AWG (.040″) and 18g SWG (.045″) niobium.  Over the course of the next week we will be working on matching sizes for the more popular weaves.  As we get the sizes figured out and cut, we will add them to the store.  If you have a particular size you need and just can’t wait, drop us a line and we would be happy to help you out.

18 gauge AWG niobium wire coming soon!

Our current niobium wire is 18g SWG.  This means it’s about .045″ in diameter.  No big deal in some cases, but if your like us and like to mix metals it can pose a problem.  Well, we have solved that problem!  In a few weeks we will have 18g AWG (.040″) in stock.  This will mix perfectly with our sterling silver for a splash of color.  Once the wire arrives will make a few different ring sizes and put them up in the shop.  If you want a specific size made, let us know and we will put you on a priority list.  Pricing will run $22-$25 oz, and of course we can anodize it.  (Yes, even our popular “rainbow” pattern)
