Red brass square, silver diamonds

Many people expressed interest in square and diamond rings in other metals, so we brought in a small amount of red brass to try out.  The good news is that we got it in, made some rings and got pictures for you.  The bad news they are all gone already.  Nearly 2lbs of rings.

This red brass is much richer than any other we have worked with.  We have more on the way and hope to have rings listed by next week.  We will be starting with 18g rings.  All will be sized to match with our copper and silver so you can mix metals if you like.

We have also just listed sterling silver diamond rings in 18g, sized for JPL.  If you have never worked with ‘Diamond’ rings before, you owe it to yourself.  The shine on them is like nothing else.

I’m not telling!

ok, ok, I won’t do that again.

As most already know, we have put in many size of copper square jump rings in our store.  These have proven to be very popular.  There have been many requests for other sizes, and we are working on those.  16g copper should be here by the end of the week.  Tell us what you want to make with it, we will work on sizes for you.

We are also working on stainless steel and Silver sizes. If that wasn’t enough, we have secured a small amount of square red brass in both 18 and 20g.

That’s right.  Red brass square wire.  We have not seen this anywhere else, so we are very excited to be able to offer it to you here.  Once we have it here we will be converting our copper sizes into red brass.  They should be completly compatible, so if you want to mix metals, go for it.

Once we have it cut, we will post some pictures for you, so stay tuned!

200 or 250?

Every once in a while I get a wild hair and do some kind of promotion.  I use the term promotion loosely, because I don’t always promote it for various reasons.  I did this not too long ago with our Etsy store and the winner was quite surprised when she got her box.

Well, I have decided to do it again, but this time I am promoting it.

Here is how it will work:

Right now we have a little under 250 sales and a little under 200 feedbacks for our Etsy store.  Starting at 12 midnight tonight and the time we reach BOTH 200 feedbacks AND 250 sales, I will take every name that has purchased something, or left a feedback in that time frame and have a little drawing.

But wait, there’s more…….

So there is “no purchase necessary” I will also take everybodies name who posts a comment here and add it in the mix.

How many prizes will there be?

I’m not telling.  There may be 1.  There may be 2.  There may be one for each group.

What will I win?

I’m not telling.  Don’t expect a $200 sterling silver bracelet though.

How will I know if I won?

I’m not telling.  (Do you spot a trend here?)

Ok, I’ll tell you that one.  I will post the winner(s) here on our blog.  If you have purchased/left feedback, well, I already have your address and I will send it to you.  If you leave a comment here and win, I will contact you for your address, so make sure you leave an e-mail (no I won’t spam you) address with your post, or you have one associated with your profile.

Updates and news

It’s been  too long since we have posted here, and we apologize for that, we won’t let it go this long again.  We do have some news to share though!

First, we would like to thank all of our customers and fellow chainmaillers for a wonderful 2008.  Without you, we wouldn’t get to do what we love.

We have updated our event calender with our scheuled classes for January.  By request, we have added a new weave to our list of classes.  Half Persian 4-1.  This is a wonderful “flat” weave that makes great rings, bracelets and necklaces.  We also use it for wallet chains.  This leads us to our newest offerings……

We have just listed several sizes of square wire rings in our new “specialty” ring section.  Right now it is mostly copper rings, with a couple in silver.  We have them sized for many different patterns, and are happy to make other sizes if you have something in mind.  We have tested every size in every pattern we have listed and are happy with how they interact.  In fact, we have even done a square dragonscale that we will release shortly.

We have also developed a ‘Diamond’ jump ring.  As of this writing they are only available in copper, sized for JPL, but there are more in the works.  These can also be found in our ‘Speciality’ ring section.

We have many shows planned this year, and will have those up on our schedule as soon as they are confirmed with the promoters.
