Our Argentium silver rings have proven to be popular so we have decided to expand! We will now have 22-14g AWG. Our wire should be here next week (Around the 3rd) and we will start adding new size rings as we make them. If you have a specific size you are looking for, please feel free to contact us and we will put them at the top of our list.
We have received a lot of feedback about our store lately and we have listened. You will notice a number of changes that we hope will enhance your experience here.
First off, our ring pricing seemed a little confusing. We used to have a base price, then as you chose larger quantites as an option, the price that was shown was an add on price. So basically you had to take your quantity price and add it to the base price to get your total. We have changed it so now the quantites show you the add on price in ( ) and the total for this item in [ ]. Total prices in the shopping cart will remain the same as they have been.
We have also added Google checkout as a payment option. If you are an existing customer with a set discount (Guild members, wholesalers) it is very important that you log into your account before paying for your order or you will not get your discount. Login used to be a requirement to place an order, but Google checkout required us to change this setting.
Again, LOG IN TO YOUR ACCOUNT if you want your discount!!
Last week we had a large influx of orders for our 18g SWG niobium rings. So much so that we ran out. To avoid backorders, I marked them out of stock to prevent them from being ordered. Seems a few people still wanted to order them and were ok that it would put their order on backorder. So, I have activated the listings again, with a note that they are out of stock and putting them on your order will delay shipment untill I have the wire and can make some more rings. I expect our wire order to be here sometime next week. Any order with these rings on it will be shipped on a first ordered, first shipped basis. As these rings continue to increase in popularity we are keeping more wire on hand and will do our best to ensure we don’t run out again.
A new 18g AWG niobium ring size will be added to the store tomorrow. This size will be perfect for JPL and can be mixed with our sterling or argentium rings of the same size. We will have pictures of just the niobium and mixed for you to look at.
As I just finished cutting a large batch of this ring size I also took the opportunity to take pictures of all the different colors we can anodize our niobium. This reference page will also be added tomorrow.
If you have questions or comments about anything on our site, we’d love to hear from you. Feel free to contact us and we will get right back to you.
So we’ve all heard about the sports widow. Her husband gets lost in a particular sport and she has a hard time getting him to do anything during that season. Baseball, basketball, football, it doesn’t matter. The story’s the same.
Well, my sport is hockey, and my team is the Colorado Avalanche. However, I am lucky enough that Tania shares my passion for it. Last week started the hockey season. For those that don’t know, the regular season is 82 games long, and runs through April. If your team is lucky enough to make it into the playoffs and the Stanley Cup Finals, that takes them into June. That means the players only have a couple months off. In my opinion hockey players are some of the best athletes around. One of the longest seasons, most physical games, and where else do you see players playing with a broken foot, jaw, finger or a list of other injuries. (yes it really happens, though usually only in the playoffs)
Well, the Avalanche lost their first game, but they still looked pretty good. They play again tomorrow and you can bet that we will be watching the game while weaving our latests projects. We generally watch the first few games of the season no matter what, watch what games we can for the rest of the season depending on what else is going on in our lifes. Come playoff time, you can usually find the Avalanche in, and us at home watching. There’s not much that can drag us away from a playoff game, and nothing from a Stanly Cup game.
I thought it would be fun to give you some little known, relevant facts about me in some of these entries, so will will start with today’s.
I have seen and touched THE Stanley Cup.
I used to be an official for a minor league hockey team that used to be in town.
I have a very large Avalanche memorabelia collection, which includes Adam Deadmarsh steak sauce, Avalanche jelly beans and gummy hockey pucks, a remote controll Zamboni, and a plastic puck full of water from the ice the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup on in 1996.
As you may or may not know, there are two different wire gauge systems. Yeah, it can be very confusing, not to mention frustrating if you didn’t know that before you ordered wire/rings. Up until now just about any place you bought 18g niobium wire from, would be selling you 18g SWG wire. This poses problems if you like to mix metals such as silver and niobium, especially on weaves that are very size specific.
Well, no longer do you have to worry about that. We now carry both 18g AWG (.040″) and 18g SWG (.045″) niobium. Over the course of the next week we will be working on matching sizes for the more popular weaves. As we get the sizes figured out and cut, we will add them to the store. If you have a particular size you need and just can’t wait, drop us a line and we would be happy to help you out.
A few weeks ago I saw a vase that a very talented friend of mine painted. I talked to her about it and after some good old fashion bartering, she said she would make me one. I got to pick it up this weekend and I couldn’t be happier. It’s a wonderful blue vase with a goldfinch and cherry blossoms hand painted on it. My picture here could never do it justice.
I also had the opportunity to see some of her other artwork she has been hiding from me. All I can say is wow. Have a look at her etsy store and her personal website to see some of her original artwork. If you need something handpainted, she can probably do it.
On another note, on my way over to her house, some goof who wasn’t paying attention decided it would be a good idea to rear end my truck, but that’s a story for another time.
